Patuxent Valley has been collecting pull tabs for many years to support the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Parents of sick children use the house to stay in while staying with their child. Last year they sent in 41/2 boxes of pull tabs. This year they are off to an impressive start. They have collected three boxes already. They are determined to beat last year's donation. Please help them by collecting pull tabs and donating the school. Let's help surpass their goal and support children in need and their families.

He is retiring, so let us all join in thanking him for his years of service to our community. He will be replaced by a familiar face, Neil Gwinn. Mr. Gwinn has worked our community and will be a wonderful asset to our students.

Another scam is happening in our community. The Howard County Police warn that residents have been receiving calls from someone saying they are from the IRS and that there is a warrant out against you for failure to pay back taxes. They explain that by giving them your Social Security number they can correct this matter. Do not give your personal information out over the phone. You do not know who is calling. The IRS would send you a letter not call. Please be careful. This is someone trying to steal your personal information not the IRS.
