A Laurel man found shot in his pickup truck Thursday night remains in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Howard County police said Friday.

Russel Elbert Rowe, 24, of Main Street, was flown to the Baltimore hospital on the evening of Jan. 23, police said.

According to police, officers responded to the 9400 block of Sewall Avenue in North Laurel at approximately 10 p.m. after a citizen reported a pickup truck crashed into a tree on his property.

Police said they found Rowe in the driver's seat, alone, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said investigators believe Rowe may have been confronted by someone while sitting in his truck on Sewall Avenue.
