An overturned car was found in a creek near Laurel on Thursday night, but rescuers were unable to find any victims inside or near the car, Anne Arundel County fire officials said.

The fire department was called at around 8:30 p.m. for a report of a car accident at Brock Bridge Road near Whiskey Bottom Road, a fire spokesman said. Authorities conducted an extensive search but as of about 10 p.m. were unable to find a victim and the investigation was turned over to county police.

The car is set to be removed from the water Friday morning.
