Bolder, a new restaurant in Mount Airy by Paul Saiz, is offering a daring take on the American standard.
The menu boasts American classics with a twist, like crabby fried green tomatoes and pumpkin bread pudding. Each month the signature dish changes; last month, it was a topical Thanksgiving theme, and this month it’s a hearty seafood au gratin.
The space is cozy and gives off a rustic feel with a color-changing fireplace and stone accents. Established in October, Bolder already feels at home in Mount Airy.
“The whole community has just embraced us with open arms. It’s just been a delight being here to serve them,” says Bolder general manager Ellie Ennis.
