The wife of an Ellicott City quadriplegic who died of oxycodone intoxication in February of 2011 will stand trial for killing her husband.
Nancy Fleming Molony, 53, of the 4000 block of Chariots Flight Way, faces second-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges in the death of her husband, Kevin Patrick Molony, 51, who was left paralyzed after a 2007 car accident.
Pre-trial motions filed by the defense scheduled in Howard County Circuit Court for this week were postponed to Apr. 18.
Molony's trial, which was scheduled for Jan. 29, was also postponed to May 20.
The incident was ruled a homicide 10 months following Molony's death after the state medical examiner's office final autopsy report revealed the overdose was caused by another person, according to Howard County Police.
A Howard County Grand Jury secretly indicted Molony's wife on July 18, 2012.
Molony's attorney Kim Alley said in a statement that she did not kill her husband.
"We look forward to all the facts coming out at trial and are confident that once they do, it will be clear that this case is a tragedy for both Kevin and Nancy Molony," Allen said.
Molony is currently free on $100,000 bond, according to online records.
