The Howard County Board of Education approved a handful of transfers and promotions at its meeting Thursday, Aug. 15.
Heather Moraff, a Title I teacher at Swansfield Elementary School in Columbia, will now be an assistant principal at that school. Previously, she was a third-grade teacher and second-grade team leader at that school.
Michael Senisi, the athletics and activities manager at Atholton High School who served as interim athletics coordinator for the county earlier this year following the departure of Mike Williams, will now be an instruction facilitator in the physical education department.
Replacing Senisi as athletics and activities manager at Atholton is Elizabeth DeFrancis, who previously served as technology teacher at that school.
Barbara Pindell, a budget analyst for the school system, will now be a budget manager for the school system, and is spearheading the system’s zero-based budgeting efforts, said Superintendent Renee Foose. Pindell’s husband, Bruce Pindell, is the system’s director of purchasing.
Heidi Maciulla, a Title I curriculum and instruction coordinator at Eastern Elementary School in Washington County, will now be the system’s reading facilitator in the secondary language arts department.
Finally, Foose announced the transfer of Lenore Schiff from assistant principal at Swansfield to assistant principal at Pointers Run Elementary School in Clarksville.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
