A public work session on the Howard County schools' health and wellness policy has been scheduled for Thursday, May 9, school officials said Friday.
Board of Education administrative assistant Kathleen Hanks said Friday, April 19 that the board scheduled the work session on the policy, which has come under fire from critics who say the policy doesn't do enough to encourage healthy lifestyles among students.
A vote on the policy had been scheduled May 9, but has been postponed to accomodate the work session, Hanks said. The board will decide May 9 when to hold a vote.
