An Ellicott City man was taken into custody Friday afternoon by Howard County Police after he threatened to harm himself and barricaded himself inside his residence, police spokesperson Sherry Llewellyn said.
Police were called to the residence, located in the 3500 block of Font Hill Drive, around 10:18 a.m. on Friday after the man expressed in an email that he was going to hurt himself.
Llewellyn said police dispatched communicators to the residence, and that the incident was resolved around 1:45 p.m. after the man exited the house without incident.
Police are unsure if the man, who was uninjured, had a weapon.
