Mt. Hebron field hockey defeats Fallston, 1-0

Mt. Hebron bounced back from last week’s loss to Glenelg to defeat Fallston, 1-0, Monday afternoon. Sophomore Katie Anderson had the game’s only goal off an assist from Monica Linn.

Mt. Hebron raised its overall record to 8-1.

Glenelg 8, Oakland Mills 1

Stephanie Asher had three goals to fuel Glenelg’s 8-1 victory over Oakland Mills. Erin Hill, the Scorpions’ keeper, had 14 saves in a losing effort. Her team is still looking for its first county win of the season.

Friends 3, Glenelg Country 2

Host Glenelg Country School lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to Friends in Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference play. All three Friends goals came on offensive corner opportunities.

Senior Hannah Veater had a strong game for Glenelg Country as did freshman Julia Sheehan.

The Dragons held a 23-5 advantage in shots taken but only Veater and Megan Hooper put their shots over the goal line.

Glenelg Country dropped to 3-2 in conference play.

Goals: F – Foster 2, Barrett. GCS – Hannah Veater, Megan Hooper.

Assists: F – Donovan. GCS – Julia Sheehan.

Saves: G – Dunn 19. GCS – Kelly Johnson 2.
