Long Reach, Howard and River Hill win girls lacrosse games

Long Reach 15, City 6

Lillie Miller (six goals) and Imani Sanders (five) were a formidable 1-2 punch on offense as the Lighting defeated Baltimore City College, 15-6.

River Hill 12, Atholton 9

River Hill’s transition attack found holes in Atholtn’s transition defense as the Hawks defeated the Raiders, 12-9, on Monday.

“We came out flat and did not play with a lot o enthusiasm, intensity or focus,” said Atholton coach Crystal Shelley. Playing on a Monday without practice the day before is always hard, she added.

Friends 13, Glenelg Country 10

Friends used five goals from Abby Corkum and four from Rachel Kehoe to defeat Glenelg Country School, 13-10, on Monday. The victory keeps Friends in first place in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference standings.

Glenelg Country stays in third. Mallory Pappas led the Dragons with four goals.

Centennial vs. Arundel

The game was cancelled due to Centennial’s field conditions. A sprinkler pipe burst at the 50-yard line making it unsafe to play. The game will not be made up.
