Chapelgate girls lacrosse overwhelms Mt. Carmel, 15-2

Thirteen of the 16 available players scored as Chapelgate defeated Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 15-2, Wednesday afternoon. It was the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland C Conference league opener for Chapelgate, which is now 2-0 overall.

Emma Rufolo and Abby Heffler each had two goals to lead Chapelgate’s scoring.

Mt. Carmel’s goals came from Taylor Gale and Erica Wheeler.

The Yellowjackets shut out Mt. Carmel in the second half.

“We had strong play in the midfield both in transition and defense causing turnovers,” said Chapelgate coach Colleen Norton.
