Howard schools partner with Chinese School

The Howard County Public School System has partnered with the Howard County Chinese School in Columbia, system officials announced last week.

Under the partnership, which was formed to enhance cultural experiences and understanding for students, the Chinese School will work with the school system to enhance the Chinese language curriculum and will help in “building a cadre of Chinese language teachers,” officials said.

The Chinese school will also help the school system in sharing information with Chinese families and helping to translate documents.

The school system will also attend events at the Chinese School to share information on parent and community education programs, certification requirement for Chinese School teachers to become public school teachers, and professional development ideas for effective language instruction.
