The Howard County Arts Council last week announced its 2014 scholarship program for high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in the arts.
The council will award at least $10,000 in scholarship funds to students starting college in the 2014-15 academic year. Individual awards will be a minimum of $1,000, and must be used only for tuition and fees at an accredited college program for an arts degree.
Applications will be reviewed by the council’s scholarship panel, and review criteria include artistic merit, demonstrated knowledge of artistic discipline, commitment to a career in the arts and a demonstrated track record of academic success.
Applications, which are available at hcac.culturegrants.org, must be submitted online by January 15, 2014.
