Local students perform with Honor Band, Orchestra of America

Two River Hill High School students recently returned from performing with the Honor Band of America and Honor Orchestra of America in Indianapolis.

Michael Busher, a senior trumpet player, and Logan Faulconer, a junior percussionist, participated in the five-day Music For All National Festival from March 12-17. There, Busher played with the Honor Band of America, at Butler University, alongside the Jazz Band of America. Faulconer performed with the Honor Orchestra of America and , with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

The ensembles are chosen through a nationwide audition process. Busher and Faulconer were two of only three Maryland students selected to take part in the festival.

Founded in 1975, Music For All is one of the largest music education organizations in the country, according to its Web site. website. Bands of America and Orchestra America are programs in Music For All the that that provide educational and performance opportunities for instrumental music students.
