Band students reach new musical heights [Marriottsville/Sykesville/Woodstock]

The West Friendship Elementary School Band student’s for the month of February are: Jacob Adams, Serena Venginickal, Arianna Roman, Jaden Adams, Heidi Schwaiger, Avery Saylor, Aadi Doshi, Jaden Song, Calgary Fowler, Morgan Swidersky, Samuel Switzer, Arianna Benjamin, Gabriel Summerfield, Hannah Norman, Rushil Patel, Sanah Ahmed, Nathan Ekman, Emma Langner, Tyson Rauscher and Sebastian Alonso. Congratulations and keep up the great work!

Amy Syverson, band director for West Friendship and Dayton Oaks Elementary schools, would like to recognize the students who made the GT and honor bands this year. West Friendship Students are: Pio Kim, alto sax, GT Band; Kelly Liu, clarinet, GT Band; Andrew Kom, trombone, GT Band; Avery Saylor, French horn, GT Band; Joshua Lindquist, French horn, GT Band; Christopher Choi, clarinet, GT Band; Julian Patterson, trumpet, GT Band; Alex Gladstone, trumpet, Honor Band; Jaden Song, trombone, Honor Band; and Charles Lowther, trombone, Honor Band. This is a record number of students in the 14 years Svyerson has been directing the WFES band. Dayton Oaks Students are: Quinlan Ballou, euphonium, GT Band; Aiden Kwon, trumpet, GT Band; Samuel Yoon, clarinet, GT Band; Giovanni Morales, percussion, Honor Band; and Michael Carpenter, tuba, Honor Band. Congratulations to each of these students and a job well done to Svyerson.

Congratulations to the Marriotts Ridge High School Varsity Cheerleaders on its their first place win at the Chesapeake High School Competition.
