Since 1975, the Centennial Boosters, a parent-run, nonprofit organization, has provided financial support to all Centennial High School athletic teams and extracurricular clubs by hosting a variety of fundraisers throughout the school year.
To kick off the 2013 Thanksgiving season, the Centennial Boosters will sponsor their annual Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk and 1K Kid's Costume Run on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk is located on the Centennial High School cross country course, a trail that meanders through the picturesque countryside. The 1K Kid's Costume Run provides young kids a chance to wear their favorite Halloween costumes one more time for the three-lap run around the newly refurbished school track.
Awards and prizes will distributed in the following categories: 1K Kid's Costume Run, high school and younger, open division, masters (40+) and CHS Sports team.The fun continues after the event with a CHS Eagle versus Tom Turkey mascot race.
Registration for this family-friendly, community fundraiser is $20 per person prior to race day and $30 per person on race day starting at 7 am. All kids under 10 years old are free when each one is accompanied with a paying participant. Ample parking is available at the Centennial High and Burleigh Manor Middle Schools parking lots. No dogs, strollers or baby joggers permitted on the course or track.

The Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City will sponsor its 12th bi-annual Fall Country Breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Bethany United Methodist Church, 2875 Bethany Lane in Ellicott City
The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $7 per person and free for children under 8 years old. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, locally made Boarman's sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits and beverages.

Calling all crafters! The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Howard No. 1882 chapter, will hold its annual Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale Sunday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City. Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church is hosting a Fall Mini-Concert Series. Admission is free but a goodwill offering will be available to benefit the church's grand piano fund.
The last two concerts are on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., "Dances and Folk Songs" featuring The Patagonia Winds, a professional woodwind quintet, and on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 5 p.m., "Christmas Faire" featuring the Mt. Hebron High School Music Department.
The 45 minute performances will take place in the church sanctuary. Meet the artists after the concert in the historic Hebron House where refreshments will be served.
