From Oct. 13 through 31, First Evangelical Lutheran Church is sponsoring a pumpkin patch fundraiser to benefit the church's youth ministry.
Located in the church parking lot and open daily, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closes at 4 p.m. on Halloween) and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the pumpkin patch includes ornamental squash and pumpkins for sale.

Historic Ellicott City's St. Paul's Church will host a three-day Stop, Shop & Buy event in the new parish center on Friday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 20, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to church member Marie Dodge, the fundraiser will include used books, crafts, glass wear, jewelry, purses, scarfs, decorated notecards, kids toys, christmas ornaments, seasonal wreaths, pumpkins, plants (mums and pansies), baked goods and box lunches.
If you visit the Stop, Shop & Buy event on Saturday, Oct. 19, head down to Main Street between 10 and 11 a.m. to catch the parade celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department. St. Paul's Church members will be there, too, selling water, soda and snacks in front of Taylor's Antique Mall and Tiber Alley before, during and after the parade.
A reminder — Main Street in Ellicott City will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic during the parade. According to the Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department, starting as early as 8:30 a.m., the county is offering free round trip main street shuttle service from the George Howard Building and the Court parking lots.
The Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant is hosting a free Holiday Craft and Flea Market on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Welcome Center. Located at 9531 Frederick Road in Ellicott City (next to the Charles E. Miller Library branch), Miller's Grant depositors will offer their holiday craft items and flea market finds for sale.
