Soccer

The SAC Premier Blue team finished as finalists in the U9 Girls top division at the prestigious Bethesda Premier Cup Tournament that took place Nov. 16-17. The team compiled a 3-1 record. All four games were decided by one goal, including a 1-0 decision in the championship match.

Running

There were 79 runners that showed up on a seasonably warm day to run the Howard County Striders weekly race at Burleigh Manor middle school on Nov. 17. Karsten Brown and Kendra Smith were the leaders in the 5k race. Those runners who had qualified for an award this season were given winter running hats.

Track and Field

Trey Clark, a junior at Howard High School, has been invited by Down Under Sports to represent the state of Maryland and the United States in a track and field competition in Sydney, Australia. Clark is currently a member of Howard's track team, participating in high jump, pole vault and sprinting.

The Down Under Games will take place during the summer of 2014 and only 300 athletes nationwide have been invited to participate in the event's various sports competitions.

Gymnastics

The men's and women's teams of Top Flight Gymnastics competed at various meets on Nov. 16 and 17.

The men's team competed at the Tim Weaver Battlefield Invitational in Gettysburg, Penn.
