Howard volleyball won the annual Thomas Johnson Invitational on Saturday, knocking off Key and Thomas Johnson in pool play, followed by a win over county rival Mt. Hebron (25-12, 25-13) in the semifinals, and finally a sweep of Chambersburg (Pa.) — 25-15, 25-19 — in the championship.
The Lions dropped only one set in the tournament, to the host school during pool play.
Howard senior Sydney Biniak, who entered the tournament with 98 kills, earned MVP honors.
Last year, Howard was 6-3 at the tournament.
