Glenelg Country 10, Mercy 0

Glenelg Country School improved its record to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in IAAM B Conference play with a 10-0 shutout over visiting Mercy.

The Dragons scored five goals in each half.

Junior Tessa More scored the fist two goals of the game, one off an assist from Hannah Veater. Midfielder Megan Hooper put the Dragons up, 3-0, off another assist by Veater.

A minute later, Veater scored a goal of her own.

Lauren Smith ended the first-half scoring with an unassisted goal.

Second-half goals came from Marissa Burks, Hooper and freshmen Alyssa Arnold, Julia Sheehan and Tokunbo Olaniyan.

Mallory Pappas had a solid game in midfield and the only action goalkeeper Kelly Johnson had was to clear the ball from the circle.

Glenelg Country totally dominated the game. The Dragons had a 17-0 advantage in offensive penalty corners and a 43-0 shot advantage.

Glenelg Country has three home games next week — Friends (Monday, 4 p.m.), St James (Wednesday, 5:30) and Park (Friday, 4 p.m.). The St. James is a non-conference contest.
