Glenelg Country School junior catcher Max Godwin has had a strong spring, culminating with a 7-0 win over Boys' Latin in the MIAA B Conference championship game at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen on Sunday, May 19.

It was the Dragons' first B Conference title in school history, and Godwin played a key role.

He worked with sophomore pitcher Dylan Farnella to craft a complete game three-hit shutout, and drew two walks, stole two bases, scored a run and had a sacrifice bunt.

After celebrating the championship, Godwin took a moment to chat about life on and off the diamond.

I enjoy watching Homeland on Showtime, it's a really great show.

Best moment as a high school athlete:

...winning the championship at Ripken Stadium this past Sunday! It was a great feeling to have worked hard and accomplished something great. We did it for the seniors (Miguel Flores, Jack Dougherty and Cameron Clifton).

Favorite pump-up song:

Spaceman by Hardwell. It gets me in the zone for big games.

Hobby most people might not know you have:

I love to cook. I taught my mom how to cook and we make Italian dinner for my grandma most Sunday nights.

Matt Weiters. He calls a great game and is a workhorse behind the plate. He has a great arm and is an inspiration to me and I'm sure many other catchers.
