30-second timeout with Jake Vonella, Howard baseball first baseman

Howard's Jake Vonella, a second-team all-county selection, had a memorable senior season on the baseball diamond. The first baseman hit a 400-foot home run over the fence in left center field at Howard High School in late April, and then earned all-county honors for the first time in late May.

Vonella finished the season batting .417 with 25 hits, including six doubles and the home run, 12 RBIs and 11 runs for an excellent OPS of 1.039.

Earlier this spring, he took a moment to talk to us about life on and off the baseball diamond.
