Howard Police Pace 5K set for September

The Howard County Police Foundation 22nd annual Howard County Police Pace 5K race and 1-mile walk is scheduled for Sept. 8 at Centennial Park in Ellicott City, the foundation announced this week.

The race, which benefits initiatives supported by the foundation, offers 50 performance awards, food courtesy of Outback Steakhouse, children's activities and a chance to win prizes. In addition, police will display cars, motorcycles and equipment from the K-9 and SWAT team units.

Race registration for individuals cost $40 through Aug. 11 and $45 after Aug. 11. Registration for families of up to four living in the same household costs $55 through Aug. 11 and $60 after Aug. 11. Registration includes entry to the race, an event t-shirt, food and a chance to win awards and prizes. Visit to register.
