Firefighters respond to Ellicott City apartment fire

Howard County firefighters responded early Thursday morning to a small apartment fire in Ellicott City that displaced three residents and caused $35,000 in damage, according to a news release.

No one was injured. 

The fire occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of North Chatham Road in a three-story garden-style apartment complex.

The fire was contained to a bedroom on the first floor and was placed under control about 4:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
