Howard County police Monday identified the man found dead Sunday in the lake at Centennial Park in Ellicott City as Douglas Robert Morin, 60, of Elkridge.
Morin was found about 9 a.m. Sunday after police received a call from a citizen who reported seeing the body in the water. Police said there was no indication of foul play and that investigators believe Morin slipped on ice near the edge of the water and fell in.
Late Sunday evening, police received a missing person's report from Morin's family, who said they had not seen or heard from him since early Sunday morning, police said.
Using a vehicle description, police said they located Morin's car on Ten Mills Road. The original police search for unattended vehicles conducted Sunday morning turned up empty, police said.
Police said Morin did not have identification on him when his body was found in the lake.
Morin's body has been taken to a medical examiner for an autopsy, police said.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
