Howard teachers' union begins 2014 endorsement process

The Howard County Education Association is starting its candidate recommendation process for the 2014 elections.

“As educators, we want to have conversations with potential elected officials all along the way from fledgling candidate to office holder,” HCEA President Paul Lemle said in a release. “Whether we recommend them or not, an informed candidate is a better candidate.”

HCEA is asking that any Howard County resident considering a 2014 run for a seat in legislative districts 9, 12 or 13 in the Maryland General Assembly reach out to the union to be included in the endorsement interviews. Candidates do not have to have officially filed with the Board of Elections to participate in the HCEA process.

Candidates are asked to contact Jessica Bernhardt at 410-997-3440, or at jbernhardt@mseanea.org.
