Howard County police are on the lookout for a man they say attempted to rob the same Ellicott City pharmacy twice.
The suspect first robbed the Ellicott City Pharmacy in the 9300 block of Baltimore National Pike on Jan. 23 at approximately 2:26 p.m., police said. That day, the suspect flashed a handgun in his waistband, corralled the employees to the back of the store and made off with various narcotics, according to police.
On March 24, police believe the same man was involved in an attempted robbery at the same pharmacy. This time, the suspect approached the counter and demanded narcotics, but an employee informed him that she had already activated an alarm, causing the suspect to flee, police said.
Police believe the man left the scene in a dark gray minivan.
The police department is offering up to a $1,000 award for information related to the robbery and attempted robbery. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 410-313-STOP.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
