Six residents were displaced when their Ellicott City home was severely damage by fire Sunday morning.
The blaze was reported shortly before 10 a.m. in the 2900 block of Poland Springs Drive, according to the Howard County Department of Fire & Rescue Services. Nobody was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported, but the family dog was not immediately accounted for.
About 40 firefighters, including assistance from Carroll County, responded to the fire, according to HCDFRS.
Video shot by neighbors showed flames and light grey smoke bursting through the rear walls and roof of the home.
The cause was not immediately available.
