Jessup Baptist lends a hand in Costa Rica [Elkridge]

On Saturday, July 19, a group from Jessup Baptist Church returned to the community from a nine-day mission trip to Costa Rica.

Their stay was hosted by Youth with a Mission and Metro Ministries, which provided lodging and translation services in exchange for technical support and assistance with renovating the base facility.

Seth Lippa, who happens to be my brother, and the rest of the team from Jessup Baptist Church, including Pastor Bill Jones, Kevin Baker, PJ Delisio, Marissa Rodeheaver, Zach Jones and Mary Grace DeBruyn were able to pull over 3,000 feet of cable to support the base network.

In addition to manual labor, the team went out into the Costa Rican community and reached out to the locals. They played games with the children, helped them take pride in their public areas by organizing trash pickups and shared their stories, showing what the power of the love of Jesus can do.

I hope the Elkridge community will join me in welcoming the group from Jessup Baptist Church back stateside, take pride in the positive actions of our community and be encouraged by their work.
