The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department will hold a blood drive on Thursday, June 27, 3 to 8 p.m., in the fire hall at 6275 Old Washington Road.
According to the American Red Cross, 60 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate; however, only 5 percent do on a yearly basis.
Blood supplies are extremely low, so please consider donating.
Guidelines state that if you are healthy; between the ages of 17 and 65; and weigh at least 110 pounds, you can most likely donate blood. Walk-ins are welcome; for an appointment, call Julie Casey at 410-984-2170.
Also in Fire Department news, the Elkridge Junior Firefighters will host a Quarter Auction and Vendor Show, Saturday, June 29; doors open at 6:15 p.m. and event begins at 7. The auction will be held at the fire hall.
Tickets are $15 at the door, and include a $10 roll of quarters, two bidding paddles and a free ticket for the VIP drawing.
Remember to bring your bidding money in quarters, and come ready to have a great time! There will be plenty of opportunities to win door prizes, and food will be available for purchase.
