Time to think about swimming pools, summer camps [Elkridge]

It's not too early to get your family registered for summer fun.

Watermont Swim Club, home of the Bullfrogs, a Division One Swim Team, is currently accepting applications for membership. As the number of memberships available is limited, Watermont encourages you to get your family registered early.

The club, at 5819 Bellanca Drive, in Elkridge, is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and offers a safe and fun environment for families to enjoy the outdoors in a pool atmosphere. Check them out at watermontswim.org or, to find out more about pricing and memberships, contact Michael at membership@watermontswim.org.

For summer camp fun, Grace is the place! In a non-religious atmosphere, children will enjoy activities such as art projects, games, sports and weekly field trips to keep their vacation time rolling. Tutoring in math and reading is also offered twice a week to bridge the learning gap and keep information fresh in campers minds.

The camp is affiliated with Grace Episcopal Church, 6725 Montgomery Road, Elkridge.

Camps are available for ages 5-8 and 9-13 that will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 23 through Aug. 22. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. For more information, go to http://www.gracechurchchildcare.org.

If summer camps aren't you're thing, there are still plenty of activities left to do this spring.

Saturday, May 17, join the Friends of the Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway on its Historic Ellicott City History and Watershed Guided Walking Tour from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn about Ellicott City's history and its watershed, through a guided walking tour along Main Street Ellicott City.

Participation is free, but registration is required and restricted to the first 25 who register. Register no later than Friday, May 16, by going to spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dG50RGd4djdOeHh1TWUyLUdkLWVqblE6MA.

Have a wonderful week and, as always, I welcome your news, events and accomplishments at rebecca_lippa@hotmail.com or 410-274-0563.
