Police offer reward in Elkridge arson case

Howard County police have offered a $500 reward for information regarding arson of an Elkridge home on Tuesday.

Police said Wednesday that firefighters were called to the scene in the 7300 block of Montgomery Road at approximately 12:53 a.m.

No occupants were in the home during the fire, police said.

A firefighter was injured putting up a ground ladder and a police officer was treated on scene for smoke inhalation, fire department officials said.

Police determined through a joint investigation with fire marshals that the fire was intentionally set, and a witness told police that a man was seen fleeing after the fire started, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 410-313-STOP.
