Howard County police have received reports of three separate residential burglaries over the course of three consecutive days in west Columbia.
In two of the three incidents, burglars entered through open garages.
The first incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday in the 7000 block of Glorious Light Place.
Police said an unknown suspect first gained entry to the garage through an open overhead door. Once inside the garage, the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door.
Police said money was stolen from a purse and wallet left in the kitchen.
The second incident, which occurred the following evening, also involved entry through an open overhead garage door.
Police said the incident occurred between 8 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 10500 block of Rivulet Row.
Once inside the garage, police said the suspect stole a laptop from an unlocked vehicle.
Police said detectives are investigating if the two incidents are related.
On 8:33 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 6200 block of Cardinal Lane to an alarm. Upon arrival, police said officers found the rear sliding glass door smashed and a large rock inside the residence.
Police said the suspect entered the home, opened drawers in the master bedroom, and then fled because of the alarm.
Police said nothing was found missing.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
