Several Howard County schools have partnered with Smoothie King in Columbia to encourage healthy lifestyles, the school system announced last week.
Students at Oakland Mills High School, Lake Elkhorn and Oakland Mills middle schools and Cradlerock, Jeffers Hill, Stevens Forest, Talbott Springs and Thunder Hill elementary schools, will be able to take part in a variety of activities from their schools and Smoothie King, all of which will encourage students and staff to make healthy life choices.
Smoothie King will provide educational and incentive opportunities to students to “make positive choices in all aspects of their lives, and help students understand that a person’s well-being is directly related to their actions, behaviors, health and attitudes,” according to a release from the school system.
The Smoothie King on McGaw Road in Columbia is one of more than 600 locations nationwide and internationally. Smoothie King sells nutritional smoothies and snacks.
