Man charged after hitting school bus

A Lutherville man was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision after he struck a school bus from behind on Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia Tuesday morning.

The drivers of the two vehicles and two passengers on the bus, both Harper's Choice Middle School students, were not injured, police said.

According to police, at 7:30 a.m. a Howard County school bus was exiting Governor Warfield Parkway on to Little Patuxent Parkway westbound when it was hit from behind.

Police said the bus had slowed down on the exit ramp to look for oncoming traffic.

Police said the scene was cleared by 8:35 a.m.
