After being washed out by rain on Wednesday, the Howard County tennis tournament entered the quarterfinal round on Thursday afternoon at the Wilde Lake Tennis Club.

Atholton, the regular season boys county champion, and Marriotts Ridge, the favorite to win the regular season girls county championship, each entered the tournament with six top-four seeds; three more than any other team.

Mt. Hebron has three top-four seeds, River Hill has two and Centennial, Hammond and Howard each have one.

Atholton, which has won the last two County Cups, has either the first or second seed in Boys Singles, Boys Doubles and Girls Doubles.
