Redeveloping Long Reach Village is right direction to go [Letter]

I agree and applaud the decision by the Howard County Government to purchase Long Reach Village and to redevelop it. 

As a Columbia resident for over 42 years, who works and shops in this village, I have witness the decline of Long Reach Village as businesses have come and gone, many with no real commitment to the neighborhood.  This action by the County demonstrates a long-term commitment by the government to halt this decline and to revitalize the village and the neighborhood.

 This is the right direction!  Press on!

    My wife and I have been residents of Howard County since 1977, when we moved from Baltimore to EllicottCity.   We have frequented the village of Long Reach over the years and we are in favor of the county plans to redevelop Long Reach Village Center.
