The Howard County police department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location on Labor Day weekend, according to a news release.
The checkpoint will be clearly marked with signs, lights and uniformed officers. The department conducts several checkpoints a year. In 2013, police arrested 1,165 individuals for driving under the influence.
Police said 27 percent of the county's fatal collisions last year were alcohol-related.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
