Community made Iron Girl an uplifting event [Letter]

I had the pleasure of participating in the Tri-Columbia Iron Girl event Aug. 18 at Centennial Park. My daughter and I did a relay for the Ulman Cancer Fund-Team Fight Team. I just want to say a huge thanks to Tri-Columbia for organizing this event for women of all ages. And then to have the opportunity to participate with another Howard County organization who supports young adults with cancer was even more inspirational.

My daughter and I, along with our runner Kim Rosborough, were swimming, biking and riding in honor of Kim's son, who was diagnosed last year with germ cell cancer and supported tremendously by the Ulman Cancer Fund.

And not only a huge shout out to both of those great Howard County organizations but a huge thanks to our community. I can't tell you how much it meant while I was on my bike, riding the course to see so many community members out there cheering everyone on. It was such an uplifting event in so many ways. Great job to everyone!
