The Hammond High School Athletic Boosters are hosting sports camps this summer for students in grades 6-9. The camps feature 10 different sports, including lacrosse, wrestling, cheerleading and vocals. Camps are not limited to future Hammond students. Early registration ends June 1. The Glenelg Booster's Sports Camp 2014 is now open for registration. Reservoir High School will also hold sports camps this summer. Information and registration can be found at rhsboosters.com. This year, the program has added additional camps. Not only are some headed by Reservoir coaches, but the school also offers a variety of art, forensic science and drama camps. Some camps are offered for students as young as 2nd grade, while others are for those in middle school. Camps are scheduled for July and early August, and registration is open now. The money raised is used to support extracurricular activities, such as sports team uniforms, tournament fees for teams and clubs, student recognition, staff appreciation, and more.
The River Hill High School Boosters are sponsoring summer camps this summer. The camps are designed to help young athletes improve their fundamental athletic skills. Weekly camps begin June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. More than 20 different camps are offered this summer, including football, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track & field, Allied Sports, cheerleading, weight training, wrestling and dance. The Atholton Athletic Boosters will hold a variety of sports camps this summer at Atholton High School. The summer camps are for incoming third through ninth grade boys and girls, and are taught by high school coaches. Cost is $135 and includes an Atholton Raider T-shirt, individual skills testing, specialized instruction from qualified staff members, guest speakers and daily awards. Howard coach Jimmy Creighton (a four-time national champion as a player and assistant coach at Salisbury University) will host a series of camps this summer focusing on playing the game of lacrosse and its fundamentals.

Tom Marechek's All Pro/Under Armour Maryland Boy's Day and Overnight Camp at Goucher College will run July 7-10. Day camp ($365) is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., extended day camp ($425) runs until 8:30 p.m. The overnight camp is $525. A specialty clinic is also available for $85. Camps are open to ages 7-17 of all skill levels.
The All Pro/Under Armour Maryland Girl's Day Camp at St. Timothy's School is now accepting registration. Hall of Fame and All-American Kara Carlin will lead instruction. Camp runs June 23-26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $340. Ages 7-17 of all skill levels are welcome.
Discounts are available for prior 2013 campers ($25), two or more family members participating in same camp ($25), three or more teammates participating in same camp ($25) and six or more teammates participating in same camp ($40).
Leader's Baseball Camp, presented by 2014 Maryland state champion Reservoir coach at Adam Leader, is a two-week camp from July 7-21. Half-day and all-day camps are available. Registration is now open for the Fairway Hills Junior Golf League, which is designed for young golfers who have the skills to play nine holes in a safe, skillful and acceptable pace of play. Boys and girls ages 8-17 are encouraged to sign up. In addition to the skill enhancement and further knowledge of the game, participants receive a league collared shirt, range balls, additional instruction and friendly competition. Sessions are on Mondays beginning June 23 through August 25. Tee times are 2-3 p.m. Cost is $50 for Columbia Association members, and $75 for non-members. The First Tee of Howard County summer class registration is now open. Classes emphasize The First Tee Code of Conduct, appreciating the rules and etiquette of the game and The First Tee Nine Core Values, using golf as the teaching mechanism.
The program provides classes for students aged 5-17. The sessions are for eight weeks and range from one to two hours long, subject to age. Clubs are provided, if necessary.
