The Howard County Bocce League will start its spring season in early April for those 14 and up. If enough players and teams are available, games will be Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for two games, and/or Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for two games. Games run 45 minutes on average. The Waverly Woods Ladies Golf League will hold an organizational meeting on April 1 at 9 a.m. at the Waverly Woods Pro Shop at 2100 Warwick Way, Marriottsville, Md. The 18-hole league plays on Tuesday mornings, and is open to ladies who have an USGA handicap or who have played enough to establish a handicap. The Howard County Junior Striders Spring youth running programs registration is open on the youth page of the bullseyerunning.com web site. There are two programs to choose from: Join the track team program if planning to attend the track meets. The schedule is on the web site, and practices start March 24. Join the running program if not planning to attend the meets. Those practices start April 3. Beginners and experienced runners are welcome in either program.
Registration is open for the Seventh Annual 24 Hours of Booty Columbia that will kick off Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. Participants must register online at 24hoursofbooty.org. The annual charity non-competitive bicycling event for all ages is scheduled to roll on the Columbia Gateway Business Park loop. Funds raised from the event will help benefit the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and Livestrong Foundation.
