Hammond's Jermika Miller won three county titles at the county championships in late January. (Staff photo by Brian Krista / January 23, 2013) |
In late January, Miller swept the long jump, the triple jump and the high jump, with a personal best mark of 5-2, at the Ivan Walker Memorial County Championship Meet at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
This spring, she'll attempt to defend her county title in the high jump, and improve on her runner-up performances in the long jump and triple jump.
Miller, who has also competed on Hammond's sprint relay teams, hopes to earn a scholarship to compete in college.
She took a 30-second timeout with us after her triple gold performance at the county indoor meet to talk about her interests off the track.
