Aquabike

The 10th annual ChesapeakeMan Endurance Festival was held Sept. 28 at Great Marsh Park. Local professional triathlete, Suzanne Serpico (Columbia) took home first and reclaimed her Aquabike championship title for the third year running. Serpico finished in a time of 6:06:46.

Another Howard County resident, 47-year-old Stephen Levickas (Woodstock), placed alongside Serpico as the top male finisher. Levickas posted a time of 5:47:33 and, like Serpico, took home a cash prize of $600.

The Aquabike challenges participants through a 2.4-mile swim in the Hambrooks Bay and through the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on a 112-mile cycling endeavor.

Running

There were 47 runners that came out to participate in the Howard County Striders weekly race at Hammond High School. The weather was well received, the hilly course not as much. Mark Eagles and Kendra Smith were the winners.
