Long Reach fell behind 9-0 to start the game and never fully recovered, losing by 11 on their home floor. “We came out of the gate and didn’t score a single field goal in the first quarter, just a couple foul shots,” Long Reach coach Al Moraz Jr. said. “I don’t know what it is, but the two times we’ve had the long breaks this year between games, we’ve come out and played some of our worst basketball.”

Avery Allmond (14 points) and Jeremiah Hall (12) led the way for the Lightning in the losing effort. Douglass will play Calvert in the region semifinals on Tuesday.
