Glenelg boys lacrosse defeats Atholton, 11-4

Glenelg jumped out to a quick three-goal lead after one quarter and rolled to an 11-4 boys lacrosse victory over Atholton on Friday. 

Anthony Pagnotta won 14 of 16 faceoffs, and Nick Forrest had five goals and two assists. Tyler Wasson and Mark Darden added a pair of goals.

Sam Smith led Atholton with two goals, and goalie Andrew Seidel stopped seven shots.

The Glenelg fans wore purple shirts with the words "Cheese ON" to honor midfielder Luke Cheswick’s brother Matthew, who was killed by a drunk driver in Ocean City last May.

John Travisano scored a season-best five goals to lift the Lions over the Scorpions. Cooper Gerus, John Keohane (three assists), Scott Bruner and Brad Zulick all had two goals.

Jack Farrall added to his season scoring totals with two goals and an assist Oakland Mills. Farrall now has 30 goals and 14 assists. Defender Jimmy Riss also scored twice.

Adam Huber had a five-point performance (four goals, one assists) to get the Vikings back on track after dropping their last two games. Jake Stevens scored three goals and goalie Jon Nass made 12 saves.

Duncan Campbell tallied a pair of goals for the Mustangs.

Dragons goalie Greg Wootton had 17 saves but it wasn’t enough as Glenelg Country fell to the Sabres.

Brandon Harry had a team-high three goals, while Wyatt Naylor added two goals and an assist. Collin Dizon and Sean Escalante both added a goal and an assist.
