Mallo hit the ground hard, causing the Wilde Lake bench and spectators to argue for a foul. No such call was given, and soon after, the whistle was blown and the match was over.
After the game, Procida — who played for Grey during her own high school days — spoke highly about her former coach.
“I love Robin,” she said. “I love playing her, because I know how great of a coach she is, and I know how great she coaches her girls. This is always something I look forward to every year.”
Grey returned the compliment.
“When I coached Davia, I gave her the building blocks,” she said. “But ultimately, she is the one that has built it and gone from there.”
Both squads will be back in action Tuesday in crucial county games. Marriotts Ridge will host Reservoir, while Wilde Lake will host Centennial.
