Mount de Sales crosses up Glenelg Country in field hockey

In a back-and-forth game, one goal was all it took as Glenelg Country School lost to Mount de Sales, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon.

The Mount de Sales Sailors came out strong and Glenelg keeper Sarah Bates made two tackles minutes apart to stop fast break opportunities from turning into goals.

The Dragons took that momentum and pressured back. There were corners called on both ends of the field, however, both defenses were stepping up big.

The lone goal from Mount de Sales was scored on a beautifully executed cross from DiGiandomenico to Griffith who put it past Bates.

In the second half the back-and-forth play continued. Glenelg keeper Kelly Johnson also had to tackle on a break away and she made several aerial saves to keep the Sailors at bay.

The Dragons weren't able to score. There was a big push at the end, where in the last five minutes players were all over the field trying to even the score. They even had a corner within the last 30 seconds of the game. A golden opportunity, but the ball was shot wide.
