Construction to reline part of the Glen Oaks neighborhood sewer house connections with cured-in-place piping was scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 16 in Columbia.
During the project, which should be completed by mid-November, public works crews will post information on residents’ front doors, alerting them of impacts to household sewer service. As the project moves along the connection pathway, sewer service will be unavailable at certain homes for two to three hours, when residents are asked not to flush toilets, take baths or showers or use washing machines or anything that would send waster water to the sewer line.
Once that particular area is completed, sewer service will resume. Water service will not be affected during construction.
Signs will inform drivers of construction, which will be ongoing, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers should avoid blocking manhole covers and reduce speed in the work zone.
