A statewide economic development bus tour and business pitch competition will wrap up Friday, Sept. 28 with a last-stop party in Columbia.
Pitch Across Maryland, an initiative of Startup Maryland, a statewide organization aimed at providing resources and access to capital for start-up businesses, began Sept. 11 with a kickoff event in Ocean City. Since then, the bus has traveled across the state visiting business incubators, economic development agencies and universities to share information about entrepreneurial resources.
The Sept. 28 "Last Stop, First Step" party will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Howard County Executive Ken Ulman is scheduled to deliver the welcome address at the event, which will include food, live music, prizes and opportunities to network with entrepreneurs and government leaders.
The party is open to the public and is free with advance registration. To register, visit http://www.startupmd.org/laststop.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
