The Columbia mall announced Tuesday that two new shops will be added to its open-air expansion wing located on the mall's west side.
ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen and lou lou, a boutique retailer of ladies clothing, will open later this summer and in the fall, respectively.
"With the signing of our newest retailer, lou lou, our 70,000-square-foot expansion wing is now fully leased," said Ashley Venable, senior general manager, The Mall in Columbia. "We are one of the first completed projects in Columbia's 30-year master plan. This milestone marks years of planning and redevelopment efforts which signify our ability to grown and change to meet the needs of our community."
ShopHouse will open a 2,438 square-foot store in the mall. Developed by Chipotle Mexican Grill, it opened its first location in Washington in 2011 and now has seven in the greater Washington and Los Angeles areas.
According to a news release, it serves as "Asia’s version of fast food, with tiny kitchens turning out rice or noodle bowls laced with spicy sauces, marinated meats and a flurry of herbs and vegetables."
According to the release, lou lou will open a 1,873 square-foot store. The location will be the store's twentieth location.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
